BUILT IN LAPLAND, MADE IN FINLAND, INSPIRED BY SCANDINAVIA
Tenho (Finnish, enchantment) Design shines in uniquely tailored furniture made of Finnish hardwood. We specialize in cabinets made for storing vinyl records and CDs. The vinyl records have certainly made a comeback. They are special for their ability to bring back precious memories and in creating an atmospheric listening experience. We value these feelings as we value good music.
The record cabinets are made in Lapland and designed in Vaasa, on the west coast of Finland. We use hard, resilient Scandinavian timber which has grown in the midst of ferocious winds, freezing temperatures and harsh sun. Finnish timber belongs to the nobility of world wood.
With our wholly customized cabinets and tables, you can choose a variety of different surfaces. You can also mix different surfaces, doors, and colours. Just tell us your ideas, we make it happen. We, at Tenho Design, use two quality types of wood for our cabinets: Finnish birch, pine and birch plywood.
Wood lives and breathes. Therefore, it is important to keep wooden products in an even humidity. Finnish timber has grown slowly in the harsh northern climate, so it has become very hard. Pale Finnish birch is harder than pine. Timber provides a really versatile material which can be sanded and resurfaced with waxes, oils, lacquers or paints many times. It can change and grow with you like a good friend.
